A sort of biography

I am writing these rows to let people that don't know me to understand if and up to which point he can trust my works. I am not a professional musician, I don't have diplomas, I see myself as an amateur and I don't think that all I write is to take as the truth. But this is the reason why I think I can share my works, it is not my job and I just would like that what I present can become a basis for everyone that doesn't know where to turn his head, always hoping that a lot of good scores will be published so that this site will be completely useless.

Briefly: my studies and my experiences

My name is Angelo, I live in Bologna, I studied classical guitar for five years from the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s. Since 1980 I started some musical activities in my parish (San Giuliano) playing my guitar (alone, with other guitars, keyboards, flutes, violins, cellos..) or singing in (or directing) the polyphonic choir.

In 1981 I followed the main courses at the Diocesan school for musical-liturgical animators.

Since mid of 80s for about ten years (not continuos) I have sung in the Cathedral Choir.

Since the first 90s for about ten years I shared with Michele the direction of the Diocesan Youth Choir.

Since 2006 for two years I followed the guitar course in the Diocesan school for musical-liturgical animators.

From 2007 to 2012 I followed the Harmony course in the same school; after its closure I went on with the "Harmony for liturgy" course that since October 2012 is held at the San Giuliano parish.

My guitars

I regularly use an Aria 551, my faithful companion since almost the bigginning of my studies and I own (and sometimes I play) a 1976 Orlando Raponi (reviewed by Roberto Regazzi in 2010).

On my Aria I alternate a Fishman Soundboard pickup model SBT and a Gewa Coxx mike using the church sound system or, in case, a Fender Frontman 15 R 38 W amplifier.

My transcriptions

Apart from a little core of "old" transcriptions (second half of the 90s), the most of my work is quite recent and is deeply affected by the analysis made on Ruaro's work and by the studies of harmony.

Usually I try to study the complete score and the style of the author. This is why I reproduce the name of whom made the harmonization that I took as reference.
