Accetta questo pane (trad., Bach) - 487-1, 2/21/2023

Quite easy transcription of this choral harmonized by Bach, made for liturgical purpose

Acclamate al Signore (Rinaldi) - mp3 - Tab - 232-1, 7/5/2017

I worked quite hard to get a "playable" and eventually good enough harmonization of this piece since a long time part of the Youth Choir of Bologna's diocesis repertoire

Agnello di Dio (Iotti) - mp3 - Tab - 242-1, 7/1/2018

A simple transcription of this invocation I often heard with chordplayed guitars; it seems to me it can be useful also something different.

Agnello di Dio (Picchi) - mp3 - 98-1, 11/10/2014

This can be a good example on how a well-known song can have a good result playing guitar, too (and, I would rather say, a new life..)

Agnello di Dio (Soli) - mp3 - 82-1, 3/1/2014, original in B flat (more or less as it is an atonal piece)

From the collection “Chiesa di Dio, popolo in festa” (EDB 1986) by rev. GianCarlo Soli published for the 1987 eucharistic congress in Bologna (see Alleluia and Atto Penitenziale as well). It is still regularly used during diocesan celebrations.

Allo spezzar del pane (Villeneuve) - 426-1, 4/25/2022, original in G

Transcription of this good canon from Christian Villeneuve hoping to have the possibility of using it. The final could be different, e.g. in the Musica assemblea journal (n.38, 1981) they suggested the possibility of closing on a G major (D major in my transcription) on the first D of measure 12.

Alto e glorioso Dio (Frisina) - mp3

Version 2 - mp3 - Tab - 108-1, 2/15/2015, original in E flat

A deliberately simplified transcription made while preparing a prayer vigil. After having prepared it in D, I discovered that it should be played in B flat (although the melody reaches very low notes) as the choir had the habit of singing it this way. This is why I rewrote (using the same outline) in A.

Amatevi fratelli (Machetta) - mp3 - Tab - 99-1, 11/20/2014, original in F

A simple transcription of this popular song. Although I keeped my work close to the author’s harmonization, the resulting arpeggio seems to me quite easy. This transcription was made because this song is used in my parish.

Anthem: Vieni Santo Spirito (Soli) - mp3 - 95-1, 10/20/2014, original in A flat

A simple but really good and useful anthem to invoke the Holy Spirit taken by the GianCarlo Soli’s wide repertory.

Atto penitenziale (Soli) - mp3 - 8b-2, 9/14/2013

From the collection “Chiesa di Dio, popolo in festa” (EDB 1986) by rev. GianCarlo Soli published for the 1987 eucharistic congress in Bologna (see Alleluia and Agnello di Dio as well). I would like to quote a little excerpt written by rev. GianCarlo himself as a preface of this work:

“I finish by quoting the introductory note of the new missal (second edition): Charismas and ministries find in the Eucharist their source of inspiration and the operating field. During celebration not all have to do it all but everybody has its specific task: everyone has to carry out what belongs to him. Active attendance requires a plurality of interventions, from the ministering to the reader, to the psalmist, to the choir, to the assembly music animator

…

In this service harmonized choral, liturgy offers an image of the Church that, in every experience, builds itself with the contribution of all”.

Ave stella del mare (traditional) - mp3 - Tab - 45-2, 6/21/2014, original in F

This traditional song is still fequently used in Bologna dioceses. I have completed a transcription that I prepared a long time ago without ever playing it. Although I am not sure, I think that the harmonization I used is from rev. Antonio Rivani.

Benedici il Signore (Frisina)  - mp3 - Tab - 223-1, 3/10/2017

A simple proposal of this song by Msgr Frisina that I made for a special mass. Thanks to Maria Maddalena.

Brilla una luce in cielo (Migliavacca) - mp3 - 78-1, 12/26/2013

Version 2 - mp3 - 102-1, 12/17/2014

Christmas carol whose ascription I believe should be assigned to rev. Luciano Migliavacca even if it was presented as from unknown author in the first editions ascribing to Migliavacca only the organ and four-voices choir elaboration. Transcription made for liturgical purposes. The second version maybe fits better in case you have to sing while playing (as I have to do by necessity)

Cantiamo Te (Gragnani) - mp3 - Tab - 3b-1, 5/25/2014

violin (or other instrument) accompaniment - mp3 - v4, 10/11/2014

A rivisiting of one of my first pieces I tried to transcribe (see God himself is with us). I don’t use it anymore after having had the Ruaro’s transcription, but it still seems to me an acceptable work. For parish use I have also prepared a violin line.

Canto di Maria (zitti zitti) (traditional) - mp3 - 136-1, 11/27/2015

An easy transcription of a traditional italian Christmas carol that I learnt thanks to my friend Michele.

Canzone di San Damiano (Donovan) - mp3 - Tab - 19b-1, 6/21/2014, original in F, arrangement Ortolani

It’s a long time since I started “playing” with this song and, although it is not a liturgical text (for the few who don’t know, it is extracted from the  Zeffirelli’s Fratello sole sorella luna soundtrack), I admit that I used it sometimes. After some arrangements I propose it for I think that there is something good, in spite of its simplicity. During the movie it is presented twice, the second time adding some verses. I have used the first version for it seems to me more adequate and basic. I think that an instrumental coda can fit well.

Chi ci separerà (Frisina) - mp3 - 91-1, 9/5/2014

Variant 1 - mp3 (voice and guitar) - Tab - 91b-1, 21/3/2015

A well-known song from the wide Frisina’s series. This accompainment re-cover the version published in Musica e assemblea n. 153; due to this reason and due to the not easy tonality of the last verse (E flat) it may result not easy. The second is a simplified variant based on a 4-voices harmonization by Frisina himself.

Chi mi seguirà (Parisi) - mp3 - Tab - 283-1, 2/8/2019

Taken from the wide repertory of Rev. Antonio Parisi, this chant is since years part of the repertory of the youth diocesan choir and is inserted in the Repertorio Nazionale

Chiesa di Dio (Soli) - mp3 - 161-2, 10/26/2019

Variant 1 - 161a-1, 11/3/2019

From the rev. GianCarlo Soli's “Chiesa di Dio, popolo in festa” collection (EDB 1986). It was published for the 1987 eucharistic congress in Bologna (see Alleluia, Atto penitenziale, Agnello di Dio and Sei Tu Signore il pane). A beautiful modern choral.

The variant is a simplified version

Cieli e terra nuova (Piatti) - 502-1, 2/1/2024

My friend Giovanni asked me to prepare a transcription of this well known advent tune. Here it is.

Come fuoco vivo (Gen) - mp3 - Tab - 116-1, 5/21/2015

An easy arpeggio of this well-known piece by Gen that is part of the Bologna Coro Diocesano Giovanile repertory since a long time.

Come Tu mi vuoi (Branca) - mp3 - Tab - 120-1, 6/28/2015

An easy arpeggio of this piece, part of the Bologna Coro Diocesano Giovanile repertory since a long time, close to the score at my disposal. My only advise, especially for verses, is that the accompaniment is a little support for the melody due to not easy dissonances for a standard choir. It could be better to play with instruments that sustain the melodic line.

Cristo è risorto veramente (Giottoli) - mp3 - Tab -  248-1, 4/5/2018

I met this song while preparing a really special Easter Holy mass. Here is a simple transcription though I could not test it. I take the opportunity to thank a lot Silvia and Elena, two great persons.

Dall’aurora al tramonto (Balduzzi) - mp3 - Tab - 15b-1, 10/8/2013, original in C sharp moll

Here is the transcription of this piece that is since a long time used by the Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir, which has been one of the first ever publicly performed together with my friends from the Guitar Course of the Diocesan Liturgical School.

Discendi Santo Spirito (include Tab) (Schweitzer) - mp3 - 296-1, 6/3/2019

I didn't know that Albert Schweitzer, beside a doctor, a philosopher and a theologian, was a musician. My thanks to Rev. Francesco who, into the diocesan Choral Workshop, let me know this piece that, even with some stylistic imperfection, seems to me sincere and effective.

Dov'è carità e amore (Zardini) - 427-1, 10/5/2022, original in Eb

The transcription of this popular tune has been made using the harmonization of Gian Carlo Soli. It seems to me that the result is not so bad

Doxology (Cerino-Soli) - mp3 - 126-1, 10/6/2015, original in Bb

Simple transcription for liturgical purpose. Only particularity, the use of the nice harmonization by GianCarlo Soli.

E’ Natale (Paulicelli, De Matteis, Belardinelli) - mp3 - Tab - 96-1, 11/6/2014, original in D

It is a well-known song from the "Forza venite gente" musical that I transcribed for a little parish Christmas play. I tried to stay as close as possible to the original score I have although I have some doubts on it.

Ecco l'acqua (Parisi) - mp3 - 297-1, 6/15/2019

Piece used in the diocesan Choral Workshop and in the Pentecost Vigil of the center city Pastoral area.

Eccomi (Frisina) - mp3 (voice and guitar) - Tab - 14d-1, 7/11/2009

A simple transcription of the well-known rev. Marco Frisina’s song. Transcription prepared for the Palme vigil that the Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir animates and used in some Mass with quite good results.

Emmanuel (Brusati, Labellarte, Mammoli, Versaci) - mp3 - Tab - 77-1, 12/14/2013

Transcription based on simples chords, really easy. This song was the hymn for the Rome Youth World Day in 2000. This transcription was prepared for a little parish Christmas recital.

Evenu shalom (trad. Jewish) - mp3 - Tab - 145-1, 23/1/2016

From a Jewish traditional melody, this song is present since a long time in many celebrations. This transcription has been prepared for the request of a new friend of mine, known through the great Delcamp's forum (in which sometimes I am present with my nickname angelo61). Although what the score indicates (quarter note equal to 120), I slowed down the rythm (to 100) as an executive suggestion.

Fratello sole, sorella luna (Ortolani) - Tab - 240-1, 12/14/2017

Popular (and overindulged) piece from the Zeffirelli's movie of the same name. I prepared it in case I had to partecipate to an event. Please, don't use it for liturgical use.

(Versione 2) - mp3 (chitarra) - 404-1, 11/21/2021

New revision after a request from a member of the blog of Classical guitar by Delcamp. Now the it has been completed regarding the melody.

Genti tutte (Perosi) - mp3 - 84-1, 3/21/2014, original in C

This well-known Lorenzo Perosi’s choral whose text is from Saint Thomas, is used in Bologna Dioceses since a long time during Eucharistic processions particularly during the feast of Corpus Christi. Transcription made while preparing the parish procession for Holy Thursday.

Giovane donna (Bancolini) - mp3 - Tab - 10b-1, 6/26/2014

I finished this old and linear transcription of this famous song. My suggestion to whom could be interested in using this piece, is to take the Ruaro’s work that you can find in the“Sulle corde e sui flauti” ed. Rugginenti collection.

Gloria (Picchi)  - mp3 - 236-2, 1/19/2019

A simple proposal for this popular Gloria written by Picchi immediately after the second Vatican Council. I think that guitar can give a different flavor to this piece, maybe less resonant but nevertheless interesting. I revised it following a not so satisfing performance

Gloria - mp3 (Tasini) - 294-1, 7/6/2019

Into a good proposal from Bologna's dioceses, expecially due to Rev. Francesco Vecchi's commitment, some pieces have been choosen to be presented to parrish choirs both for local usage and for possible diocesan use. For ordinary, the "Mass for assembly" from Francesco Tasini have been choosen, from which, this Gloria has been taken (see also Kyrie)

Gloria a Te (Taizé)  - mp3 - Tab - 222-1, 3/10/2017

A simple proposal of this song from the wide Taizé repertory that I made for a special mass. Thanks to Maria Maddalena.

Gloria a te Signor (Jef) - mp3 - 50-1, 3/4/2012, harmonization Stefani

A simple transcription of this popular Gospel acclamation used in Lenten period. Transcription made for liturgical parish use and performed during Lent.

Il canto degli umili (Machetta) - mp3 - Tab - 37-1, 11/30/2010

From Anna’s canticle, a simple transcription from the popular Domenico Machetta’s piece. This transcription was prepared for a vigil never performed (for bad-weather reasons).

Il disegno (Marani) - mp3 - Tab - 74-1, 11/23/2013

This song has become a real classic for baptismal or vocational celebrations. The melody line reported is extracted from the “Laudario” collection, ed. Rugginenti 1981 (I underline it because there are many different and unchecked version. This work is originated by a correspondence with Patrick.

Il Signore è il mio pastore (Passoni) -  mp3 (voice and guitar) - Tab - 22b-2, 6/26/2009, original in A moll, harmonization Soli

violin (or other instrument) accompaniment - mp3 - v2, 3/1/2014

This really popular song, which text has been written by Father Turoldo on a melody by Ismaele Passoni, has been brightly harmonized by rev. GianCarlo Soli (for 4-voices choir). This transcription largely benefits of the harmonic richness of this version. Transcription made for parish liturgical use and performed many times with quite good results. Here you can also find an easy accompaniment thought for a violin that I executed frequently with good effects. It is written in F sharp moll for this fits better for the assembly.

Il Signore ha messo un seme (Chieffo) - mp3 - Tab - 147-1, 1/31/2016

Requested by my friend Orlando, here it is a very simple accompaniment of this piece that was really popular around the end of the 70s from a songwriter close to the C.L. world.

Il Signore ti ristora (Taizé) - S: El Senor es quien restaura - mp3 - Tab - 33-1, 5/3/2010, original in C sharp moll

I wrote this transcription because I could not find an officialo ne (that may exist as there is a wide Taizé production). Trancription made while preparing a vigil with a Taizé group.

In comunione (Pianori) - mp3 - Tab - 149-1, 2/6/2016

Among the songs my friend Orlando proposed to me, I was surprised to read this title, maybe a little bit outdated. Anyway I pulled out the score and here it is the result.

Innalzate nei cieli (Martorell) - mp3 - 5b-2, 9/24/2013, original in G moll, Version 2 (Martorell, Soli) - mp3 (voice and guitar) - 497-1, 12/2/2023, original in A moll

It can be discussed the tonality as it seem to be a modal (or neo-modal) style. Transcription of this well-known piece, particularly indicated during Advent, made for parish liturgical use.

The second version uses a different harmonization in the verses for a 4 voices chorus made by GianCarlo Soli.

Io credo in Dio (Parisi) - mp3 - Tab - 201-1, 11/26/2016, original in G

One of the most interesting proposal of the Apostles' creed in Italian language. I tried to stay as close as possible to the harmonization published in the Repertorio Nazionale songbook.

Io non sono degno (Chieffo) - 489-1, 8/4/2023

My friend Giovanni told me that a good guitar player, during the holy mass on youtube from the church of Nostra Signora della Salute (Torino), sometime was playing this tune, old piece from the songwriter Claudio Chieffo. Here is my simple transcription.

Isaia 62 (Gardi) - mp3 - 235-1, 9/4/2017

Version 2 - 235b-1, 9/4/2017, Version 3 - (Arr. Ragno - 9/4/2017), Version 4 - (harm. Vecchi, Rinaldi - 235d-1, 9/16/2017) - Tab

One of the song choosen for the Holy mass of October 1st 2017 in Bologna celebrated by Pope Francesco. It has become popular in Bologna and it is used expecially for weddings. Here you can find 3 versions written starting by Rev. Francesco Vecchi harmonization. Two are mine, the third is from Gianni who made a beautiful work you can find in the Harmony workshop section. Then a final version written so to adapt to some modifications by Rinaldi who wrote the scores for flutes and clarinet.

Laudato sii (anonymous) - mp3 - Tab - 4b-1, 10/1/2013

A beautiful traditional melody for the Canticle of the Creatures that put in evidence, with a proper simplicity and linearity, this magnificent Franciscan praise. Transcription made for liturgical parish use. It seems to me that it works.

Laudato sii (Paulicelli, De Matteis, Beladinelli) - mp3 - Tab - 239-1, 12/8/2017

From a popular musical of the 80's. I made this work for a possible partecipation to a music-reading event.

Le mani alzate (Vercruysse) - mp3 - Tab - 246-1, 2/25/2018

A well known song from the repertory of the French musician Odette Vercruysse.

Le tue mani (Giombini) - mp3 - Tab - 55-1, 4/7/2012, original in F

Easy transcription of a popular Marcello Giombini’s song. Transcription made for liturgical parish use and following a request from Sara. I have answered to this request but I am not completely satisfied of the result.

Lodate Dio (Mancuso) - mp3 -  Tab - 247-2, 3/25/2018

Taken from the "GEN rosso" repertoire often used in the past by the Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir

Lodate il Signore (Conte, Ferrante) - mp3 - 7b-1, 7/14/2015

I have resumed and completed after a long time this song, I think coming from the Rinnovamento nello Spirito movement, that has been frequently used by the Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir and characteristic for its rhythm. Please note that the passage in F is thought for a 4-voices choir so I take the melody mixing Alto and Soprano voices.

Lode a te o Cristo (CALAB) - mp3 - 286-2, 3/16/2019

I will use this acclaim during lent this simple but efficacious melody taken by the traditional repertoire from the Centro di Animazione Liturgica dell'Arcidiocesi di Bologna (CALAB). As I could not find anything, I had to harmonize this piece by myself

Luce di verità (Becchimanzi, Scordari) - mp3 - Tab - 245-1, 2/17/2018, original in E

A simple hymn to the Holy Spirit proposed in a youth meeting in Italy at the presence of Pope Benedict XVI in Loreto

Madre per le tue grazie caste e pure (Francisco Soto de Langa) - mp3 - 103-1, 12/25/2014

For what I know, it is an alternative text for the better known "Anime affaticate e sitibonde" part of the compositions known as "Laudi filippine". I played this piece sometimes ago and maybe I will use it again in the future.

Maranatha (Frisina) - mp3 - 119-1, 6/18/2015

Another song from the “old” Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir repertory, it is quite easy to play but quite far from the melody.

Mistero della cena (De Pearsall) - mp3 - 230-1, 5/14/2017

Transcription made for liturgical purpose from this simple choral by Robert Lucas de Pearsall, an English musician of the 19th century

Molte le spighe (Cruger) - 486-1, 2/12/2023

Transcription made for liturgical purpose from this simple choral by Johann Crüger.

Noi ti lodiamo, Dio (Te Deum) (Rivani from gregorian) - mp3 - 238-1, 11/11/2017, original in B moll

A tribute to rev. Rivani for all he made in the Bologna Diocese. Version taken by the gregorian Te Deum still performed today

Noi veglieremo (Machetta) - mp3 - 2b-1, 2/6/1998, original in D

Version 2 - mp3 - 2-1, 3/30/2014

Used sometimes with not bad results, usually the version in C.

Non temere (Frisina) - mp3 - Tab - 244-1, 2/4/2018, original in C

A popular song from the rich repertoire of Rev. Frisina. It may be difficult as there is an ascending half-tone increase after each verse, thus using unusual keys.

O Signore nostro Dio (Soli) - 35-1, 5/29/2010, original in F

Version 2 - mp3 (voice and guitar) - 35b-1, 3/22/2014, original in F

This canon hides a deep harmonic complexity behind a melody not difficult to learn. It was born like a joke and the original score was attached with the “end of season” greetings for the singer of the Bologna Cathedral Choir in the mid-80s. I liked it a lot and I started to make it known in my parish first and then to the Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir. Here you can find two different transcriptions that try to keep all the harmonic architecture complexity and a third (Version 2) really simplified. I use the first version quite often with good results (maybe it is one of the work of which I am most satisfied).

Pane di vita (Marranzino, Pesarese) - mp3 - 159-1, 5/5/2016

This piece comes from the Rinnovamento nello Spirito. Transcription made while preparing an inter-parishes prayer vigil

Pane di vita nuova (Frisina) - mp3 - 235-1, 9/4/2017

Variant 1 235b-1, 9/16/2017

Variant 2 235c-1, 9/16/2017

A really simple transcription of one of the song choosen for the Holy mass of October 1st in Bologna celebrated by Pope Francesco. While setting up it was decided to increase the tune in the middle so I added an Eb part in the previous work (that has to be played with fretboard in the first position) and a new Eb-E score so to avoid fretboard.

Pane vivo spezzato per noi (Akepsimas) - mp3 (voice and guitar) - 141-1, 1/3/2016, original in F

This choral is already in the diocesan repertory since many years. This transcription has been prepared to enrich the Eucharistic section of this little set.

Perché Tu sei con me (Henderson-Belamide) - mp3 - 73-1, 9/8/2013, harmonization P. Rimoldi

Easy transcription, almost completly in arpeggio, of this paraphrase of Psalm 22. This song is part, since many years, of the Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir repertory.

Psalmodies 123467,7bis8 (Liberto) - 56b-1, 57-1, 58-1, 59-1, 60-1, 61-1, 63b-1, 62-1

A series of psalmodies by rev. Giuseppe Liberto, fruit of an “epistolary” cooperation with Antonio. Note: version 7bis is a different harmonization of the melody 7, with a key lowered.

Psalmody Holy Trinity (Parisi) - 43-1, 6/25/2011, original in F

This transcription was made for a Diocesan meeting for the Holy Trinity feast.

Quanto sono amabili (Arguello) - 377-1, 11/13/2020

Variant 1 - mp3 (guitar) - 377b-1, 11/16/2020

Version 2 - mp3 (guitar) - 385-1, 2/27/2021

Two possible variants for a simple accompaniment of this Arguello's tune from neo-catecuminal's repertory. I was asked to work on this tune by my new friend Ugo who also sent me the score in C but letting me know that the author himself  uses to play it in D. This is why I decided to propone these variants using the two keys.

Then I reviewed everything trying to stay closer to the rythmic used from Arguello himself. I inserted a new introduction, too, taken from a video easily recoverable on youtube, leaving on the score the melody that can be played by a flute or other solo instruments.

Questo è il giorno (Soli) - mp3 - 128-1, 10/17/2015

Variant 1 - 128b-1, 10/17/2015

Two possibilities for this acclamation that is part of the Bologna Cathedral repertory for Easter liturgies since many years. The first version is not easy to play so I added a second simplified version.

Resto con Te (Henderson, Uelmen, Belamide, Sequeri, Stradi) - mp3 - 158-1, 4/30/2016

This piece comes from Gen Verde repertory. Transcription made while preparing an inter-parishes prayer vigil. There is also an original score for guitar but it was thought as a sort of decoration and not as a basic and complete accompaniment.

Resurrezione (Mancuso) - mp3 - 85-1, 4/9/2014

Variant 1 - 85b-1, 4/18/2014, original in E

This song was reminded to me for it was part of the repertory used from my friend Elisabetta that asked me to help her choir during Easter vigil. The metronome is setted following indication of “Nella casa del Padre” ed. 1988. At first I wrote it in the original key, then, during trials I realized that we were singing in D so I prepared this version too.

Sai dov'è fratello mio (Mendelssohn) - mp3 - Tab - 292-1, 4/27/2019, original in F

I beg pardon to Rev. Ruaro for I "plagiarized" this transcription. As I had to use this hymn during Easter Vigil and as I had really a short time and as I dicovered that the melody we use in Bologna dioceses (see Repertorio Nazionale - Appendice Diocesi Bologna) differs slightly from the one used by Ruaro, I did not used his excellent (unpublished) version and I preferred to lower it one tone while simplifying it at my best. Let's say that its easiness is the only "quality"

Santo (Bonfitto) - mp3 - 97-1, 8/11/2014

This melody is often used but often badly. Please, pay attention to bar 6 (first note is a quaver !!) and to bar 19 (the three quavers are at the same height !!). But these kind of errors are not surprising. The main point is the last chord (and, consequently, the final note). It has been DELIBERATELY written a dominant chord - D major - that DELIBERATELY gives a suspension effect. The author put it to avoid an ending sensation so to underline that this chant is the beginning of the Eucharistic prayer. So, please, think at it. If you like, it's ok, else it is better if you do not use it !

Santo (Dykes) - mp3 - 21b-1, 7/14/2009

Version 2 mp3 - 21c-1, 11/10/2012

Transcription for liturgical parrish use from this well-known nineteenth century Holy from John Bacchus Dykes (1823-1876). Version 2 meets the four voices harmonization. I normally use the first version in lowered tune.

Santo (Ragno) - mp3 (chitarra)Tab - 387-1, 4/17/2021

My friend Gianni Ragno proposed to me this interesting reading of the Holy inviting me to transcribe it. Not easy task but I hope the outcome is not so bad.

Santo (Zappalà-Mancuso) - mp3 - 25-1, 7/31/2009, original in A

Transcription for liturgical use of this popular Holy usually said Gen. Please, pay attention that normal performance practise shorten the interval between the ending of the first "Hosanna" and the beginning of the "blessed". I used the harmonization from "Nella casa del Padre" ed. 1986. I used it few times but I should refine it a little bit.

Sei tu Signore il pane (Soli) - mp3 - 140-1, 1/2/2016, original in G

Though it uses the same lyrics from Eugenio Costa, it is not the well known choral from Kirbye (of which you can find a notable transcription from Ruaro in his “Sulle corde e sui flauti”) but it is a variant written by GianCarlo Soli, published in his "Chiesa di Dio, popolo in festa" and used for a certain time in the Bologna diocese during many solemnities. The first verse was normally used as the refrain and sung with one voice, the others as verses and sung in 4 voices.

Sii esaltato (Paris) - mp3 - 83-1, 3/21/2014

A not easy to play transcription from this song that is in the Youth Diocesan Choir repertory since a long time. Main difficulties derive from the practise of raising the melody of half a tune after each verse. Second verse becomes a F# major, that has 6 alterations in key (note that even the E is sharp !). First bar of the modified tune is a propose from myself. Maybe I will rewrite it soon or later..

Sorgente di salvezza (Parisi) - mp3 - 233-1, 15/7/2017, harmonization: Molinini

Variant 1 - 233b-1, 8/5/2017

I made this work because this piece has been choosen for the Holy Mass during the Pope visit in Bologna on October 1st 2017.

Sotto la tua protezione (Ragno) - mp3 (voice and guitar)mp3 (guitar) - 379-1, 12/19/2020

My friend Gianni Ragno agreed to modify his choral (that I did already propose here), to let me have a sort of song-prayer thought for the end of a celebration.
Thus, Gianni has extracted an anthem to sing the first time before the prayer, the second time at its end.
The text (originally Sub tuum presidium) is one of the oldest "tropairon" dedicated to Mary; here is a translation in English:
Beneath your compassion,
We take refuge, O Theotokos [God-bearer]:
do not despise our petitions in time of trouble:
but rescue us from dangers,
only pure, only blessed one.

Symbolum '77 (Sequeri) -  mp3 (voice and guitar) - 107-1, 2/6/2015

I discovered an old score of mine (probably is dated back to the first 80s) I propose it as I wrote it. It was one of my very first trials (maybe the first one) but it seems to me that it is not so bad. At the time I had the complete score and also an accompaniment for a flute written by rev. GianCarlo Soli that I should have used as a reference. This could explain some “whimsical” choices. I recall that there is a good transcription in the book "Chitarra e liturgia" from Pierangelo Ruaro and a final version in his collection "Sulle corde e sui flauti".

Ti seguirò (Frisina) - mp3 - 75-1, 5/12/2013, original in C

Transcription made for a brief cycle of meetings with high school boys in my parish. This song is part of the Bologna Diocesan Youth Choir repertory. It is a short piece but it works well. The original version is a little bit high to sing without a good choir (it reaches an E), in a normal context maybe it is better to stay lower.

Tu scendi dalle stelle(Alfonso Maria de’ Liguori) - mp3 - 76-2, 12/21/2013, original in F, harmonization Soli

violin (or other instrument) accompaniment - mp3 - v1, 15/12/2013

This is one of the most popular Christmas carols, here I present a version based on the rev. GianCarlo Soli’s harmonization. As it happens with many pieces with a contemporary style harmonization, the result is not so satisfying because I cannot move with enough ease. This transcription was made for a little parish Christmas recital but with the intent of inserting it in the Christmas liturgies. I also wrote a simple violin accompaniment made for the same occasion. It is written in D major but it can be easily transported. The experiment was good so we used it also in some Christmas masses.

Tu sei il Cristo (Frisina) - mp3 Tab - 271-1, 10/12/2018

Simple transcription of this choral from the wide Rev. Frisina's repertory. I "stole" and finished a draft sample from Gianluca that kindly let me have his work. I thank him deeply.

Tutta la terra canti a Dio (Bourgeois) - mp3 - 152-1, 26/2/2016

A transcription not so difficult from this simple XVI century choral

Un canto nuovo canterò  (Bach) - D: Erstaden ist der heil'ge Christ, BWV 306 - mp3 - 227-1, 4/23/2017, original in G

A beautiful choral included, since a long time, in the Bologna Diocesan repertory.

Variazione su un corale di Claude Goudimel (Pietra) - 226-1, 3/25/2017

Score for guitar solo inspired by the Claude Goudimel's choral "Thee will I love". It can be used ti substain meditation

Verbum panis (Balduzzi) - mp3 - 156-1, 4/4/2016, original in E moll

Version 2 - mp3 - 156b-1, 4/4/2016

Written by Chiara Casucci and Mite Balduzzi for the Mass for choir  Verbum panis edited by the Immaculate Mary's Oblati Missionaries (OMI). The transcription in D moll has been made while preparing an inter-parishes prayer vigil

Vero cibo è il tuo corpo (Branca) - mp3 - 157-2, 5/7/2016

Loosely based on John 6, 48-58. "I am the living bread that came down from heaven." (John 6, 51a). Transcription made while preparing an interparochial vigil

Vieni Santo Spirito di Dio (Scarpa) - mp3 - Tab - 293-1, 4/27/2019

A simple transcription made (with great pleasure) for a request of my dearest friend Elisabetta
